Purpose Art.2

The Master is intended to interest biologists and medical doctors as well as other health professionals having completed a three-year university degree and a Post-graduate diploma. The Master is also open to equivalent professionals of emerging and developing countries, graduates from high schools and holder of a three-year university degree.

The purpose of the Master is to develop the ability to perform the profession of "transfer" of biomedical technologies and technical-sanitary professions in emerging and developing countries, amongst graduates in various areas of Biology and Medicine.

Due to the genetic and pharmacological discoveries and innovations in electronics and computer applications, Biology and Medicine have recently reached a high level of technological development. Despite the biological, cultural, religious, and socio-economic diversities of various countries, this technological development needs to be broadly shared worldwide.

The technologies transfer process in the emerging and developing countries is not a natural phenomenon originating from osmotic diffusion of knowledge and technologies, neither is it a process only governed by political and economical rules. Its effectiveness is based on professional and cultural trained human resources of emerging and developing countries.

This is the only way the technologies transfer can acquire its bi-directional nature to ensure that the synthesis of technologies and the specific cultures of people to whom technology is the instrument for development are taken into consideration.

The Master is an initiative of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" and it is intended to interest biologists, medical doctors and health workers who embark on the activity of technologies transfer in biomedicine as an experience and part of their professional life.
